- For Immediate Release
New York, NY - Caminus LLC, a leading provider of software
and consulting services to the energy industry, today announced it will
acquire Texas-based DC Systems, Inc. (DCS). The company plans to integrate
DCS' flagship product Gas*Master into Caminus' Zai*Net suite of power
and risk management products thus creating "the most comprehensive and
functional suite of software solutions available in the industry," according
to CEO David Stoner.
Founded in 1988, DCS is a privately held corporation specializing in providing
software and services to the natural gas and fuels market. DCS's product
Gas*Master, an integrated natural gas information system, addresses the
full scope of gas management requirements, from pre-production supply
planning, through contract and price administration and tracking, to post-production
settlement and accounting.
"Gas*Master is earning a reputation as the strongest physical/gas system
available," stated Stoner. "Compared to competitive products, only Gas*Master
has a truly comprehensive, totally integrated system of traditional gas
management functions with a web-based Electronic Data Interchange interface
to the pipelines utilizing GISB standards."
"The strength of DCS lies in the deep gas industry expertise of its staff
led by its founder Dick Couron," said Stoner. Mr. Couron will become a
Caminus Senior Vice President and continue to lead the Dallas based DCS
team which will operate as a Caminus business unit focused primarily on
the fuels sectors.
"Caminus has the capability to support the high growth we are both experiencing.
Their strength and leadership in the European market sets them apart from
the competition," Couron said. "We also share a commitment to customer
satisfaction by providing excellent products, coupled with outstanding
customer service and support."
Stoner cites the acquisition of DCS, as well as the recently announced
partnership with ABB Energy Information Systems, as clear confirmation
of Caminus' commitment to a strategy of providing end-to-end software
solutions for the energy enterprise that integrate the entire value chain
across all commodities and functions.
The combined company will have a customer base of more than 75 major energy
enterprises worldwide. DCS customers, including; TXU, Anadarko Petroleum,
Coastal/CIG, Public Service of New Mexico and Southwestern Energy will
join Caminus' roster of customers located throughout Europe and North
America, which include American Electric Power; Conoco, Inc.; Public Service
Electric & Gas Co.; Phillips Petroleum Co.; and Eastern Electricity plc.
